What this tool does

Lists every image on the page with its alt text, dimensions, loading attributes and responsive sources, measures file size and format of a bounded sample, and flags oversized files, missing dimensions that cause layout shift, and lazy loading on images likely above the fold.

What you get

  • Image inventory with alt text, dimensions and loading attributes
  • File size and format of each measured image
  • Alt text, dimension and loading findings with locations

Scope

One page; up to 60 image files measured.

Pages are fetched politely by BacklnkBot, robots.txt is respected, and only public websites can be audited. Every finding shows the evidence it is based on and when it was measured.

Limitations

  • • Whether alt text is a good description cannot be judged automatically; only presence and obvious problems are checked.
  • • Above-the-fold position is estimated from document order unless the page is rendered.

Frequently asked questions

Should every image have alt text?
Every img needs an alt attribute. Informative images need a description; purely decorative images should use an empty alt (alt="").
